Opening: Open daily, 10am to 5pm (last admission 4.15pm), until 1 November 2026, then closed for winter and reopening in February 2027. Pre-booked groups of more than 30 can visit during the winter closure.
Time needed: 1 to 2 hours
Parking: Parking on Priory Road and nearby residential streets. You can also ride the West Hill Cliff Railway up from the town or walk up on signposted paths.
Access: There are 40 steps down to the entrance and the caves have uneven floors, a low tunnel and slippery surfaces, so they are not wheelchair accessible. Pushchairs are not allowed inside but can be left in the buggy park; a baby sling is recommended.
